Team Beta Eta Omega joined over 9,000 walkers in this local community event held October 15, 2011. The Health Committee of Beta Eta Omega raised over $1,000 in support of the fight against breast cancer. The global health initiative encourages personal fitness and healthy lifestyles. The health initiative also supports and endorses organizations that promote access to treatment and coordinate awareness and advocacy campaigns to reduce health disparities, save lives and impact health related legislation. The activity was globally sponsored by the American Cancer Society, a partner with Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc in achieving the national program initiatives under the 2010-2014 administration.
